BRIDESHEAD REVISITED

I was very happy with the new interpretation of Evelyn Waugh's novel, Brideshead Revisited. Obviously a lot shorter that the original mini-series starring Jeremy Iron's and Anthony Edwards, but still a 2 hours and 50 minutes film.

Emma Thompson was perfectly cast as pious Lady Marchmain. And while Matthew Goode was a sufficient Charles Ryder, it was Ben Whishaw who stole the show as the tortured Sebastian Flyte - hopelessly in love with his best friend Charles as Charles falls for Sebastian's sister, Julia.

My favorite line - Sebastian to Charles regarding his unrequited love for Charles - "only God can give you a love like that". Dagger to heart!!
